Detroit Machine Screw Works was located at 66 - 68 Fort St. It was established in 1877 by Clarkson & Taylor. It was incorporated as DMSW in 1880.

DMSW used a patent issued on 1884 April 8 to Thomas Reno. He apparently developed Reno Vise Company. A History of the firm, and its founder, is under development.
